Kunnen we steden zó ontwerpen dat ze structureel minder CO₂ uitstoten? Die vraag stond centraal tijdens een eerdere editie van Carbon Stories. Inmiddels zijn begin 2026 drie nieuwe studies verschenen die laten zien hoe sterk stedelijke vorm, mobiliteit en lifestyle samenhangen met CO₂-emissies. De boodschap is duidelijk: de manier waarop we onze steden bouwen maakt verschil.

Wat betekenen deze inzichten voor onze steden? En als we weten waar de grootste winst ligt, wat houdt ons dan nog tegen om het toe te passen?

Tijdens deze editie gaan we hierover in gesprek met onder andere Martin Sobota (CITYFÖRSTER) en Jurriaan van Stigt (LEVS), samen met beleidsmakers en ontwikkelende partijen. Moderator Geert Maarse leidt het gesprek. Inloop vanaf 19:00 uur

‍Can we design cities in such a way that they structurally emit less CO₂? That question was central during a previous edition of Carbon Stories. By now, at the beginning of 2026, three new studies have been published showing how strongly urban form, mobility, and lifestyle are interconnected with CO₂ emissions. The message is clear: the way we build our cities makes a difference.

What do these insights mean for our cities? And if we know where the greatest gains can be made, what is still holding us back from putting them into practice?

During this edition, we will explore these questions in conversation with, among others, Martin Sobota (CITYFÖRSTER) and Jurriaan van Stigt (LEVS), together with policymakers and development parties. The discussion will be moderated by Geert Maarse. Doors open from 7:00 PM.
