Cinema Culinair

Als je ogen nou précies even groot zijn als je maag mag je deze twee weken in het Keilepand niet mislopen. Cinema Culinair is dan namelijk weer terug in de Keilezaal en de tafels worden al gedekt!

Cinema Culinair creëert door hun interessante filmselectie altijd weer een divers smaakpalet en met meesterwerken zoals Chef,  Ratatouille, en The Menu ziet de menukaart er ook dit keer weer fantastisch uit! 

Filmselectie

Chef: 8, 9 en 10 oktober

Chef (Favreau, 2014) is een culinaire komedie over topkok Carl Casper die leeft voor zijn werk. Als hij door een restaurantcriticus wordt afgebrand, uit hij zijn frustratie op Twitter. Hij beseft niet dat iedereen zijn reactie kan lezen, waarna een mediarel volgt. Zijn ex-vrouw tipt hem een foodtruck aan te schaffen en terug te keren naar de basis: eerlijk en lekker eten waar mensen blij van worden. Met zijn zoontje en een oud-collega reist hij door de zuidelijke staten van Amerika en hervindt hij zijn plezier in koken.

De film is Engels gesproken en Nederlands ondertiteld.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 10 oktober

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is een fantasierijk avontuur vol zoete creaties, eigenzinnige humor en magische momenten. Samen met een excentrieke chocolatier en een nieuwsgierige jongen beland je in een wonderlijke wereld van chocolade, kleurrijke zalen en onverwachte verrassingen. Rijke smaken, speelse personages en een tikje absurditeit komen samen in een visueel feest dat prikkelt, verwondert en je even helemaal laat wegdromen.

Deze film wordt vertoond in het Engels met Nederlandse ondertiteling.

Julie & Julia 11 oktober

Geweldige foodfilm met superveel gerechten. En met Meryl Streep… Zij zorgt ervoor dat je elke keer weer enorm moet lachen. Douze points: echt een eerbetoon aan Julia Child.

The Menu: 15 en 16 oktober

The Menu (Mark Mylod, 2022) is dus eigenlijk een komedie met een maatschappijkritisch randje waarin horror, humor en spanning worden afgewisseld met fantastisch eten. Het verhaal speelt zich af in een peperduur restaurant op een afgelegen eiland, waar 14 gasten de food-beleving van hun leven gaan meemaken. We volgen met name Margot (Anya Taylor-Joy), de partner van foodie Tyler, die haar op het laatste moment uitnodigt voor dit exclusieve diner. Chef Slowik (Ralph Fiennes) kookt obsessief met lokale ingrediënten en maakt originele gerechten. Het menu bouwt langzaam op van raadselachtig via bizar naar een persoonlijke afrekening aan het adres van alle snobistische gasten. Deze heerlijk absurde film bekritiseert de moderne haute cuisine en hun bezoekers, onder leiding van de intens-enge Ralph Fiennes als chef de cuisine. Een culinaire beleving is haast een understatement. Komt dat zien en proeven!

Ratatouille: 17 en 18 oktober

Ratatouille (2007) is een Pixar animatiefilm voor jong en oud en is dé culinaire animatiefilm aller tijden. Remy is een rat met smaak en culinair talent, die per toeval terecht komt in de keuken van chefkok Gusteau. Aldaar maakt hij vrienden met keukenhulp Linguini. De film kreeg 65 prijzen en bruist van energie, romantiek, humor en, belangrijk: lekker en authentiek Frans eten waar we een selectie van presenteren. Ratatouille wil je niet alleen zien, die moet je proeven.

Cinema Culinair

If your eyes are exactly as big as your appetite, you won’t want to miss these two weekends at Keilepand. Cinema Culinair is back at KeileZaal, and the tables are already being set!

With its interesting film selection, Cinema Culinair once again creates a diverse palette of flavours. And with masterpieces such as Chef, Ratatouille and The Menu, the menu looks fantastic once again!

Film Selection

Chef: 8, 9 and 10 October
Chef (Favreau, 2014) is a culinary comedy about top chef Carl Casper, who lives for his work. When a restaurant critic gives him a terrible review, he vents his frustration on Twitter. He fails to realise that everyone can read his response, sparking a media scandal. His ex-wife suggests that he buy a food truck and return to the basics: honest, delicious food that makes people happy. Together with his son and a former colleague, he travels through the southern states of America and rediscovers his passion for cooking.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: 10 October
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a fantastical adventure filled with sweet creations, quirky humour and magical moments. Together with an eccentric chocolatier and a curious boy, audiences enter a wondrous world of chocolate, colourful rooms and unexpected surprises. Rich flavours, playful characters and a touch of absurdity come together in a visual feast that stimulates the senses, sparks wonder and lets you dream away for a while.

A fantastic food film featuring an incredible number of dishes. And with Meryl Streep… she’ll have you laughing throughout. A true tribute to Julia Child.

The story takes place in an ultra-expensive restaurant on a remote island, where 14 guests are about to experience the dining experience of a lifetime. We mainly follow Margot (Anya Taylor-Joy), the partner of foodie Tyler, who invites her at the last minute to this exclusive dinner. Chef Slowik (Ralph Fiennes) cooks obsessively with local ingredients and creates original dishes. The menu gradually evolves from mysterious to bizarre to a personal reckoning aimed at all the snobbish guests. This wonderfully absurd film takes a critical look at modern haute cuisine and its clientele, led by the intensely intimidating Ralph Fiennes as chef de cuisine. Calling it a culinary experience is almost an understatement. Come see it — and taste it!

The film won 65 awards and is bursting with energy, romance, humour and, most importantly, delicious and authentic French food — a selection of which will be served during the event. Ratatouille isn’t just a film you want to watch; it’s one you want to taste.

The film is in English with Dutch subtitles. The exception is the afternoon film & (kids) brunch screenings, which are shown in Dutch without subtitles.
