Double Lecture Architecture: by Robert Winkel & Nina Aalbers.

Double Lecture Architecture: by Robert Winkel & Nina Aalbers.

Double lecture Architecture is a new series in which Rotterdam architects talk about their work and then discuss M4H as an opportunity for a new innovative area development.

Architects who are concerned with sustainability and who have a clear vision of urban development based on their oeuvre. In addition to a more experienced agency, a young agency is always invited to discuss each other - after giving a short lecture about their own work and vision of the future. In addition to a presentation of the architect's vision, the evenings are broadly focused on M4H: what do you see as the quality of M4H and what is your vision on the task and challenge of circular area development? After energetic kick-off with Michiel Riedijk (NRA architects) and Diederik de Koning (la-di-da-architects), we welcome this second evening Robert Winkel (Mei architects) and Nina Aalbers (Architectuur Maken).

Winkel is dedicated to developing carbon-free buildings and actively contributes to addressing the climate crisis and building for a healthy future. As a developing architect, he is the mastermind behind SAWA: the first circular full-timber (and award-winning) building in Rotterdam. Beyond his practice, Winkel holds significant roles in advisory commissions and is a respected lecturer and juror in architecture and urban development.

Nina Aalbers
